Scholarship Opportunities for Continuing Students

Welcome to UMass Boston’s Scholarship Portal! We are here to support your efforts in continuing your education.

Who should move forward with submitting an application?
Any currently enrolled student is welcome to submit a general scholarship application. While you are able to apply at any point, in most cases you will not be considered until you earn a minimum of 12 UMass Boston earned credits. The majority of continuing student scholarship recipients have a minimum cumulative GPA of a 3.0 and a minimum of 24 UMass Boston earned credits.

Scholarship Application Process:
STEP ONE: Sign in (using the button on the top right of this page) using your WISER credentials to access the campus login portal.
STEP TWO: Submit your general application. The general application requirements include a series of questions and short responses, a two page essay, and a letter of recommendation (optional).
STEP THREE: After completing the general scholarship application, you are then able to apply for any available scholarship opportunities. These include conditional applications such as a specific college or major (ie. College of Science and Mathematics, Donna M. and Robert J. Manning College of Nursing and Health Sciences, College of Education and Human Development). You will be able to view and apply for these opportunities AFTER you submit your general application. You are welcome to use the search tool below to find scholarships you may qualify for by typing in key words such as your major, residency, or career aspirations.

Each scholarship opportunity has its own individual criteria and guidelines. Some scholarships will only be open to students in certain majors, with certain cumulative GPAs, or a number of other factors. Our scholarship opportunities are highly sought over and funding is limited. Apply early to receive the most consideration.

Scholarship Notification Timeline:
Scholarship applications are for selections during the 2025-2026 academic year. You will be contacted at your UMass Boston email address if you are a scholarship recipient. Award recipients are most commonly notified approximately four weeks after the scholarship application deadline (the comprehensive scholarship is approximately six weeks). At any time, you are welcome to contact the Office of Merit-Based Scholarships to check the status of a specific scholarship process.
