Niki Janus Endowed Scholarship

The purpose of the Fund will be to provide renewable scholarship support to full- and part-time undergraduate students who have financial need as determined by the University. Recipients must come from an educational or cultural background that is underrepresented in the sciences or students who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to diversity (meaning efforts in the United States to reduce social, educational, or economic disparities based on race, ethnicity, or gender or to improve race relations in the United States) in the academic, professional, or civic realm through their work experience, volunteer engagement, or leadership of a student or community organization, or have experienced financial hardship as a result of family economic circumstances. Preference may be given to students who are the first generation in their family to attend college. The Janus Scholars, as they shall be known, may receive the Janus Scholarship on an ongoing basis through their commencement.
