President Martin T. Meehan Scholarship
This scholarship is provided to one undergraduate, deserving continuing student enrolled at UMass Boston who has demonstrated financial need. Applicants will be asked to respond to the supplemental question below. This award will be made to a student for the upcoming fall semester.
Based on the question below, you may be a qualified candidate for the James J. Karam Presidential Scholarship as well, which is an additional scholarship opportunity with a separate application.

- In 500-750 words, submit a personal statement describing your educational and career goals and how you plan to achieve them. Explain how your academic interests, personal experiences, or accomplishments, beyond what is reflected in other parts of your application, have influenced these goals. In your response, address: (A) Your short- and long-term educational objectives (B) Your career aspirations and the impact you hope to make in your field or community (C) How being awarded this scholarship would support your education, reduce barriers, and enable you to become a more effective global citizen. (D) Your essay should clearly demonstrate your motivation, preparedness, and commitment to achieving your goals.
