The Myra and Robert Kraft Boston Boys and Girls Club Endowed Scholarship

The purpose of the Endowment is to assist needy and deserving UMass Boston students (the “Recipients”) who have “active involvement” with the Boys & Girls Clubs or related organizations (referred to hereinafter as the “Boys & Girls Clubs”). Related organizations include: Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston, The Boys and Girls Club of Dorchester, The Walter Denney Youth Center, The West End Club, The Salesian Club. Active involvement shall mean that the student has either been a member or an employee of the Boys & Girls Clubs for at least one year. The University agrees to make reasonable efforts to confirm Recipients’ active involvement with the Boys & Girls Clubs. Recipients shall have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and may continue to receive the award annually during their enrollment at UMass Boston provided they meet the grade point average requirement. Notwithstanding this provision, the University’s designees (the Principal Investigator), in consultation with the Donor or his representative, may, in her/his discretion, waive the grade point average requirement based on circumstances which justify an award made to a student who may not meet the initial grade point requirement but who is likely to achieve (and thereafter maintain) said grade point average in the first semester for which the award was received.
