The Eileen M. Campbell Scholarship
Eileen Campbell was the youngest of 8 children. She was a surprise, late in life baby but cherished by all. Eileen had a charisma about her. She died unexpectedly at the age of 23, just a few weeks away from graduating from UMass Boston with a degree in Psychology when she was struck and killed while crossing Quincy Shore Drive. Her father accepted her diploma posthumously at graduation, a very sad day for her family.
Impact
Eileen’s family established this scholarship to help a student from the Quincy public school system. They hope to assist students who need an economic “boost” to assist in their pursuit of a college education: “We hope the scholarship is an everlasting tribute to Eileen, who’s young life was cut short. Any recipients are wished a successful pursuit of a college education, with a little help from Eileen.”
