The Kyran E. Kennedy Award

The purpose of the fund is to provide financial support to a full-time UMass Boston student with preference afforded to a student who is a veteran or active duty member of the military as well as a student who is the spouse, parent or child of a veteran or active duty member of the military. The student shall have completed at least one full year at UMass Boston (24 credits). Recipients will demonstrate a record of persistence and academic accomplishment in progress toward a degree, it being the express intention of the donor that the grant of the award will not be exclusively based on grade point average. The recipient shall have demonstrated financial need that is not fully met by government benefits such as the GI Bill or other types of financial aid and the award may offset loans and/or need-based student employment.
