The Gaston Internship Fund

The fund will provide an annual award to an undergraduate or graduate student(s) at the University Of Massachusetts Boston that will allow the student(s) to travel and conduct research in the Caribbean or Latin American countries or culture. In furtherance of that purpose, the following guidelines will apply: Recipients of the internship will be selected by the University Mass Boston Office of Merit Based Scholarship in collaboration with the Mauricio Gaston Institute. A nominee(s) shall be put forth based upon the office or institute’s knowledge of the student(s). Factors to be considered in the nomination include observed evidence of integrity and sound judgment as well as diligence within and commitment to the University’s mission. Evidence of such characteristics should be enumerated in the nomination letters.
